In January 2019 the Lancet, a prestigious medical journal, published the EAT-Lancet Commission. The Commission reported on food planet health and included targets for healthy diets and sustainable food production, as well as five strategies to achieve planetary health diets for nearly 10 billion people by 2050. The report was commissioned by 30 leading academics and based on empirical, reproducible evidence including meta-analyses and scientific reviews. It’s the healthiest and most sustainable diet for humans.

With regards the ‘planetary health diet’, the Lancet is promoting a total revision of the traditional ‘eat well plate’ with more focus on vegetables, wholegrains and limiting dairy and animal protein consumption. However, when the report was published, it was poorly portrayed by the media. This led to confusion with regards to what we should actually being eating, as well as the belief that this diet is impossible to implement.

We want to give people suggestions on how to implement the documents' recommendations through realistic meal plans, recipes and shopping lists.

Our blog also has a space for people to share their meals and gain inspiration from others.
